HIGHLY ELASTIC JOINTS with RUBBER TOROID-SHAPE CASINGS

 

Highly elastic joints with toroid-shape casings are intended for torque transfer between units subject to action of considerable vibrating, dynamic and shock loadings. The joints have unique as to its value compensating capability (they compensate radial displacement of shafts up to 4,5 mm), have high damping properties; they are characterized by large durability (with operation life not less than 10 years) and sim-plicity of their design.

Highly elastic joints with toroid-shape casings find wide application in pump installa-tions, in road-building machines’ driving gears, rolling mills’ roll-tables, boring machines, auxiliary drives of diesel and electric locomotives, power drives of river and sea vessels.

In Fig. 1, the design of the offered joint with toroid-shape casing is shown, and in Table 1 the general properties of the joints are given.

For the simplification of installation toroid-shape casing can be produced with incision profile.

For simplification of selection of a joint according to the power and speed of rotation of the engine Table 2 is used

On request of the customer, for a joint of one particular size, variations of such technical characteristics of the joint, as the transferred torque, axial radial and torsional rigidity, the maximum speed of rotation, etc. is possible, which is realized using changes of the casing’s constructive-technical elements.
