RUBBER-CORD COMPENSATORY INSERTS into PIPELINES
Rubber-cord compensatory inserts are used for compensation of assembly, temperature, and working displacements while linking pipelines, and also for decrease of vibration and noise level of pipelines and pump plants. They are used for simplification of installation and dismantling of pipeline valves, are installed instead of pipeline valves during their repair, and are mounted on suction and pressure lines of pump plants.
Rubber-cord compensatory inserts can be widely used in water, sewer and heat networks.

In Fig. 2 fastening of boards of an insert by means of flanges and screws is shown. Boards of inserts are made elastic enough and that allows installation of inserts by means of one-piece (not cut) flanges 2, 3 (Fig. 2).
For each passage diameter, some versions of inserts different by width “B” are produced (see Fig. 1) which allows to facilitate selection of inserts for specific service conditions. In particular, when installing disk shutters instead of valves, for compensation of differences on the width of valves and disk shutters, rubber-cord compensatory inserts are widely used, which are mounted sequentially with the shutters, and at that installation of shutters (Fig. 4а) is facilitated and the cost of installation is reduced.
The variant of installation of a valve (for example, instead of a valve of larger width) with the use of a rubber-cord insert is shown in Fig. 4b.
Compensatory inserts are used in processing trains of chemical water treating shops, due to the fact that rubbers of which the inserts are produced are resistant to chemical reagents and coagulants. The inserts also find their application in power engineering, during reconstruction and repair of boiler plants and other objects, successfully replacing stainless steel branch pipes. Rubber-cord inserts can be applied for electric uncoupling of metal pipelines. The form of inserts is designed in such a manner that while at pressure they are thrustless, i.e. do not exert force action on the pipelines being connected. All inserts are reinforced by a high-strength caprone cord and have threefold failure pressure safety factor. Long time operation of inserts has confirmed their reliability and durability. The warranty period of their operation life is 5 years.
Rubber-cord inserts are produced according to the TU 2539-002-23770232-2003 specification. At customer’s request, required versions of compensatory inserts, both on their geometrical sizes, and on the rubber properties can be produced.

These rubber-cord compensatory inserts serve for compensation of the assembly, temperature and working displacements, pipelines being connected, and also for decreasing the level of vibrations and noise of pipelines and pump installations. They are used for simplification of installation and demounting of valves, are installed instead of valves during their repair, and are mounted on sucking and forcing lines of pump units.
