Packers for repair of pipelines(NEW!)

 

Pneumatic packer (see picture 1) is designed for repair of local damaged areas of pipelines and joints in inaccessible places or sectional restoration of areas by trenchless repair method.

The packer’s pipe is manufactured from elastomers with a wide complex of technical features combined with high elasticity and reinforced by frame material with high rupture resistance. The packer has a flexible сore, which allows the flow of water during the repair, the butts have threaded holes for increasers.

         Wheels are mounted on flanges for the installation of the packer in the pipe, there are also staples for secure fixation of the packer in the well and for pulling through difficult areas. Make-and-break couplings for air supply are mounted on flanges on both sides. All the metallic details of the packer are rust proof. The packer bends easily and can be installed through the curved area of the pipe

Packers of scientific production plant “SIBREZINOTECHNIKA” Ltd.  are manufactured for various pipes with the diameter from 100 to 1200 mm and have the effective length for repair binding from 600 mm to 4600 mm.

Before the installation of the glue binding the packer tube should be wrapped by polyethylene film to protect the packer coating cover from the exposure to proofing compound.

Trenchless technology of the pipelines repair

using packers of scientific production plant “SIBREZINOTECHNIKA” Ltd.

 

The repair pipelines with packers today is the most modern way of the pipe repair without trenches. There is no more convenient and completely “trenchless” technology for emergency repair.

As for the range of application this type of repair can be used both for emergency repair of the pipe area (including joints) and for complete restoration of the pipeline, on area up to 50 meters length. Packer repair can be used for pipes with the diameters in sufficiently wide range. Particularly, inner diameter of the repaired pipes with packers produced by scientific production plant “Sibrezinotechnika” is from 100 to 1200 mm.

         The method is quite simple: epoxy emulsion is applied to the measured and folded glass cloth for impregnation, then the impregnated glass cloth is coiled round the rubber packer with the diameter less than the diameter of the repaired pipe.        

The epoxy emulsion has high adhesion with wet surface that is an important condition of efficient application for repair of water supply, sewage and storm sewage pipelines.

The impregnated cloth is fixed on the packer by several threads or a thin cord with the breaking load not more than 5 kg. The purpose of the fixation is to avoid impregnated cloth shift when the packer is transferred to the repair spot.

    Then the packer is installed on the repair spot, compressed air is supplied to the packer and the expanding packer tightly presses the impregnated cloth to the inner surface of the pipe, the impregnated cloth forms a polymeric pipe inside the repaired pipeline. 

    Soon after it (the polymerization takes from 30 to 120 minutes) the air is let out of the packer, it is retrieved from the repaired area and can be used for next repair.

ADVANTAGES:

  • As a result of the repair a smooth polymeric pipe appears inside the old pipe, with a high bearing capacity – up to 9000 N/mm2.
  • The generated surface has a very high, comparable to steel pipes, abrasion resistance.
  • The impregnating composite polymer because of high pressing penetrates into the pores, cracks, holes and cavities of the old pipe and cements them.
  • At pipes joints the polymer penetrates into the fissures at joints and seals them.
  • As for the equipment used this method can be considered one of the cheapest from all possible, as the only necessary things for repair are an automobile compressor, a rubber packer of the corresponding diameter, special cloth and epoxy emulsion for the preparation of impregnation.
