Hydraulic locks with rubber-cord casings (pneumatic plugs)

Hydraulic locks with rubber-cord covers for overlapping of pipelines with a diameter from 65 to 1800 mm, at carrying out repair and restoration and commissioning works on water supply, sewer and thermal networks.

Hydraulic lock (sealer PDD) it is an elastic casing, reinforced with high-strength cord, containing a cylindrical, two end parts and a valve for supplying compressed air. Inflating of the hydraulic lock’s casing is provided by giving into it compressed air from a compressor or a gas-cylinder. Hydraulic locks can be installed through wells or special operating apertures in pipes and work at the temperature of the liquid pumped over on the pipeline, from 0 to 90° С. For use in the sewer network of petrochemical companies manufactured hydraulic locks in oil-resistant performance.

The design and manufacturing technology of hydraulic locks are patented.

Hydraulic locks are issued on TU 2527-004-23770232-2004.

Determination of water pressure held by hydraulic locks 

Use this table to determine the water pressure held by hydraulic locks in pipes of different diameters at nominal and maximum (for a given diameter) air pressure in the shells of hydraulic locks.

In this table, the water pressure retained by the hydraulic locks is determined by calculation and tested experimentally, while the calculated coefficient of friction between the shell and the pipe was assumed to be 0.15.

Table explanations

Below the line given are the air pressures (in MPa) in hydraulic locks’ casings, and over line are the corresponding water pressures (in MPa) held by hydraulic locks. Parameters under nominal air pressure are given with upright font, and those under maximum, for the given diameter, air pressure are given with slanted font.
